Incursion

On wednesday the 16th of april I got an invitation
to play the boardgame Incursion by my friend Pär.
The game was simple in its basic tactics and 
the first scenario was to be played between
american apes with guns and german zombies.
The apes were two and the zombies got more
each round. The goal of the game was for the
americans to cross the gamingboard from A to B
and to the zombies to kille one or the two apes.
It turned out to be an ape-victory. :)
I liked the graphics of the game and the Sotr-feeling.
Nice game and I am looking forward playing again.

Onsdagen den 16 april blev jag inbjuden till spel
av min vän Pär. Vi valde att spela brädspelet Incursion
och det var helt nytt för mig.
Spelet var enkelt i sin uppbyggnad och man kunde
i grundspelet välja mellan att spela amerikanerna som
representerades av "apes". Dessa "apes" var beväpnade
k-pistar och 2 till antalet.
Jag valde att spela tyskarna och deras zombies som
formligen vällde in från min spelhalva varje runda.
Spelets mål för amerikanerna var att ta sig tvärs över
spelplanen med en av sina figurer och om jag lyckades
nedkämpa en av dessa så hade jag vunnit.
Aporna var dock starka och det blev en apseger. :)
Snyggt spel och roligt att spela.Ser fram emot att spela
detta snart igen.

The KRW leads the way in SoTR

This weekend I played my first game of SoTR in Lund.
I played the germans and my friend Pär the russians.
We agreed on 50 points each to pick troops and support.
The setting was for my first time in a winter-scenery.
The ruins and extras were all very good and also very
inspirational. The russians Pär chose to play with were
a mixture of naval infantry and a Bren-carrier with a 
flamethrower. On top of these Pär had a medium mortar
and some anti-mech rifles. My chosing of troops are listed

The game. On the first round Pär got the initiative and started
hitting my KRW. Two men out of four got hit by mortar-fire from
the russians. Then Pär moved one of his squads in the middle
of the table fitted with anti-mech rifles.
On my first turn I wanted to get a better position with my panzer-
schreckteam on my left flank. My tactic was to knock out the
Bren with the flametrower as soon as possible.
The rest of my squads moved all forward and also my two zombie-
squads. I tried to activate my remains of my mortarservice but failed...
On turn two the russians shot down my loader in my panzerschreck-
team on my left flank and the gunner went panic and hid in the nearby
ruin. The russians in the middle started fireing on my panzerschreck-
team placed in my center but missed but shot down two zombies.
The rest started to moved forward against my position and on the
right flank they reached a small stone-wall.
My second turn started very good and I managed to load and fire my
KRW against the russian opponents on my right flank and killed two of them
and forced the rest to withdraw back to the nearest threeline.
In the middle I fired through a small stonewall and inflicted som damage on
a antimech-rifle-team. On my left flank I moved quickly forward to avoid
exposing as little as possible.
The russians continued firing with mortars and riflefire but inflicted only
little damage.
On turn three the russians moved forward with the Bren carrier and
toasted two of my riflemen but the rest my right-flank squad held out.
In the middle the russians started to fire on my command-squad hidden
in a ruined building and forced my troops back and also continued moving
forward taking a tactical position. The mortars pounded some fire on my left flank and inflicted some more damage.
I directed almost all my fire on the left flank to knock the Bren carrier out
and it got halted. The rest of my troops returned fire but the game was 
over after the russian naval infantry reached its tactical position.
Pär won a tactical victory but it was a fair fight and very fun to play.

Käfer-RaketenWerfer = KRW

This weekend I will play a good game of SoTR(Secrets of the third reich).
To prepare my troops I converted one of my toy-cars to a mobile
rocketlauncher with 10 tubes to launch rockets.
I thought about many names : VW werfer, VW raketenwerfer but
the price went to Käfer Raketen Werfer in short KRW.
The result was satisfying. I will report how the car managed to do its task
on the gaming-table. 

Denna helg ska jag spela SoTR(Secrets of the third reich). För att
förbereda mina trupper har jag byggt om en leksaksbil till en mobil
raketskjutar-ramp med plats till tio raketer.
Jag funderade på flera namn: VW werfer, VW raketenswerfer men
fastnade för Käfer Raketen Werfer eller den enkla förkortningen KRW.
Resultatet är helt o.k. Jag kommer att skriva en rapport om hur bilen
klarade sin uppgift på spelbordet framöver.

Fantasy-figures

Last week I bought some really nice figures on second hand.
Cheap and a lot of them. :) I bought demons, rat-packs and
all kinds. Most of the figures will be used to games like
Warhammer fantasy battle play, Call of Cthulu and
after the apocalypse and SoTR.
I also made a pirate-find! A nice figure with a treasure chest
on his shoulder. Nice indeed. Soon I will start painting these
figures. Below you can read the name of the figures and the
manufacturer:

Förra veckan gjorde jag nya figurfynd efter att ha svarat på en
annons där en person sålde sina figurer till bra priser.
Billigt och stort utbud. :) Jag köpte demoner, råttor och en hel
del annat. Figurerna kommer att användas till spel som:
Warhammer fantasy battle play, Call of Cthulu och efter
kärnkraftkatastrofen samt SoTR. Jag gjorde även ett pirat-fynd i
form av en figur som bar en skattkista på en av sina axlar.

Guards of the harbour

Now I have assembled my guards that will be
posted in my harbour when playing skirmish
in the pirate-era. They lack of paint but that
will soon be fixed.
Most of the parts are bits and old stuff that
I bought in second hand.

Nu har jag blivit klar med min styrka som ska
utgöra en vaktstyrka i min hamn vid spel
piratmiljö. Figurerna saknar färg men
det är snart avklarat. Större delen av denna
samling figurer består av delar och gamla
figurer som jag handlat på loppis.

Russian airpower

Today I got another nice package from my contact in the
town of Borås. The package contained 1 Mil-24 Hind, 2 Mi-8,
1 T-72 and 1 command Ural truck (ZIL).
All the models looks very good and they will come to use
when I will play skirmish during the cold war-era.
All the models are in the scale of 1:72.
The most tricky part in this project is to find descent plastic
russians in the same scale. The best figures are from Esci
and named Warzaw-pact troops but these are very hard to
find because they are out of stock everywhere.

Idag fick jag ännu ett trevlig paket från min kontakt i Borås.
Paketet innehöll 1 Mil-24 Hind, 2 Mi-8,1 T-72 och ett 1 ledningsfordon
av typen Ural (ZIL). Alla modeller kommer att komma till användning
när jag ska spela småslag som utspelar sig under det kalla kriget.
Alla modeller är i skala 1:72. Det svåraste är att få tag i vettiga
ryska figurer i samma skala. Mina favoriter är Warszawa-pakt soldater
från Esci men dessa tillverkas inte längre och verkar vara slut hos
alla som säljer liknande.
