X-mas-soviets

This Christmas a friend decided to donate a package of
plastic miniatures because he thought that their poses were
"dull". Me and my friend Andreas had a second about this
and split the package in two.I received by mail a package
containing 2 complete squads of russian infantry ww2 (28mm).
Arms, legs, torsos etc to 20 complete figures!
Very nice addition to my ever growing collection both to
be used in Bolt action, Chain of command and Secrets of the
third reich.

Tanks for the Jerrys

Last weekend a friend of mine at the local gaming-club
made me an offer that I couldn´t resist.
He offered me both tanks and crew for a neat sum of
60 Euros. I purchased both for 28mm and 15mm.
All of it was german and WW2.
The big tanks will be used both for Bolt Action and
Secrets of the third reich.
The medium tank (Panther Ausf D) will be a nice
support vehicle and the Wirbelwind will be a real
threat using the four 6mm A-cannons on PBI(poor
bloody infantry). The last tank in the 28mm-scale
is a Grille with a 10,5cm gun mounted on a Praga-
chassi(38t) and this will be used both for hammering
the infantry and grinding down strongholds and bunkers.
The Grille is the only tank that I will update with more
details and camo-net.
Last but not forgotten is the 15 tanks to Flames of war.
I bought all of these for my project Berlin 1945 and
together with my last buy this will make my german
tank-force complete. The tanks will be updated with
late-war-camo and also camonets and accessories.
Next to complete is the german
infantry that will be a mixture of Volksgrenadiere,
Volksturm, SS, Fallschirmjaegers and regulars.
This project will be great fun to build and will be
my biggest project so far with a city-scenery and
compartments both above and underground.
I will build both sewers and cellars and detailed
models of the city-center.
In my next report I will write about all the
miniatures that I bought.

Second hand finds at the local club

Last weekend it was flee-market at the local gaming club
and I was there together with my friend Olle.
It was not as much participators as last time but
eventhough this fact there were a lot of eager gamers.
My budget was quite fair and I got a lot for my
spent money. I paid 40 Euros for all the items at the
pictures. I bought a bucket of tin to make new cannons
and at first I planned to melt it all but found som gems
in the leftovers and decided to save them for my projects.
Especially a evil Chaos-priest was nice and some markers
to show fallen fighters. Other finds were two german
soldiers, a barrel to my pirate-skirmish and two
riders (one for WH 40k and one for Fallout skirmish).
I also bought some 15mm "Jerrys" together with tanks to be
able to make my own Berlin 1945-setting for the game
Flames of war.I will paint the tanks in ss-pattern and
the figures in a mixture of ss, volksgrenadiers and
fallschirmjägers(late war).
To my ever growing russian army-collection of 15mm I
found 5 trucks with AA-guns. I will probably exchange the
Opel blitz with a GAZ to make the force more "russian".
Last out are my 5 Kroots from GW to convert to mutants
in Fallout skirmish and the missing arms (bits with
weapons) to make my Super-mutants complete.
The supermutants will be a nice project and I will also
fit these two figures with containers filled with
food that hang from their backs in chains.
The skin of these supermutants will be "unhealthy" and
scarred and also fitted with diseases.A new report
showing the finished result on these mutants are soon
to be published

Bolt action-My first game ever

Last sunday I was invited for a test-game in Bolt Action by
my friend Peter. The points were set to 1000 points each and
the participants were a total of 5.
I and two other players(Andreas,Henrik) chose to play the russians
and our opponents were Peter and Mikael that chose the finns and

germans. The sideboards at Peters were filled with good
refreshments and after the game we also ended up at dinner-table.

The objective of the gamewas to take the crossroads and also to find
a missing
document that was hidden somewhere at the scenery.
Any fraction that placed figures adjactent to a crossroad at the
endturn controlled the crossroad.
The game was set to 300points to each player for a start and
got reinforced with more troops each round until all figures and
models were placed on the gaming-table.
The russian tactics were very defensive and this was because
we thought that the axis would put in more armour at the end
of their setup but we made a false calculation.
Eventhough the advance for the russians was slow we managed
to occupy two buildings and take three buildings and got a
total score of 7 points and the axis only 6 points.
A russian victory was celebrated eventhough it was a close one.
This was a very nice testgame of Bolt action and I liked using
the BA-dices very much becuse the game became very clear
for an overview.
I will end this battlereport with sending out a big thankyou to
Peter for holding this test-game and also for his great hospitality
and nice dinner.Looking forward for a new game very soon.
