Rendered my own Hobby-rack

Next furniture/item I have chosen to 3d-render is my

very much used Hobby-rack that I made myself

when I studied carpentry and furniture-making back

in 1996. I draw the drawings originally by hand and

on paper but converted into CAD and digital many

years later. The material is mainly birch but also

cherry, beech, oak and pear-tree.

If you want to build this rack yourself all the measure-

ments and drawings are on this page:

My first handmade building - rendered

Last year I made my first building drawing i CAD

and finally 3d-printed the finished STL-file.

The result was very satisfying and made in filament.

I haven´t painted the model yet but I decided to

experiment with colors and render to see what if.

I must say the model looks good and almost if it

is taken from the real world.

On the link below you also can read about this

model in the making and come alive:

The last picture show the housemodel fresh from the

3D-printer.

My own furniture - rendered

Working with carpentry and able to make my

own furniture I decided to 3d-render my

CAD-files to see how they would look.

First up is my foot-stool I made 2003.

The wood is MDF with Maple-veneer.

The cushion is IKEA and ox-leather and the

metal-handle is from a kitchen-range I can´t

remember the name of the manufacturer.

The last picture show the real foot-stool.

My own 3d-printed Borgward Wanze

Next project is to make a small but very nice-looking

model called Borgward. The small tracked vehicle was

produced by the germans and two variants are in my

opinion more interessting than other.

I will make my version of the Tankhuter (Wanze) with

6 tubes firing panzerschreck-rockets and the Demolition

carrier that was remote-controlled, and when arrived near

its target it could release a big box in the front carrying

450kg of explosives.

I have been looking for both these two models in the

15mm-scale but until Battlefront realeased their new

Berlin 1945 to the game Flames of War version 4 they

were hard to find, and I decided to make these myself.

Some work is still to be done with both models (smoke-

grenades-launchers in the front on the Wanze and the

fittings of the 6 panzerschrecks and also som minor details

on the demolition carrier).

Eventhough there has been a lot of work on the free-time

(when all the rest of the family has been sleeping) it was

worth it and next report will show the 3d-printed result.

Made my own PT-3 mineroller for 3d-printing

 Being a tabletop-gamer but also a CAD-worker has

its advantages. I have looked in the history-books and

found that the Soviets used a PT-3-mineroller to clear

mines and pave the way when assaulting their enemies.

The PT-3-mineroller is a crude item and will be docked

onto a T-34-tank. Next step is to base the model and

make the docking-device to point out so it easy will be

able to dock together with the tank and to be disconnected

when not in use.

I have printed 6 of these and the result in the 15mm-scale

is o.k and it will look even better with some paint.

Happy Midsummer to all you reader out there!

Back again

My blog has been very quiet lately and the reason

is very simple, my own time is less than limited.

During my absence I have struggled with renovating

and completing our garden with: green house, isolating

our garage, building big wooden boxes to plant flowers

in, carpentry-work, paving etc etc.

I also managed to reach the age of 50 and now I have officially

entered the "dark side". :)

Eventhough all the above and working full time and taking

care of my children and family I still work with my hobby

in mind.

Latest buy has been 4 plastic kits to be used in Flames of war

and the Berlin 1945-scenario.

I also bought some german Fallschirmjägers and german infantry

in greatcoats. The german FJ-unit is now ready to be completed

and I will also add some recoilless cannons(puppchen), medium-

mortars and PAKs for close support.

The new figures are all from Skytrex and I like the a lot.

The gritty-pictures show my figures I already have in my collection

before that I added for an complete overview.

The FJ fought in Berlin 1945 and on the ground they were a feared

elite-unit not to be triffled with. :)

Next report will be about models I have drawn in CAD myself to

be 3d-printed and used on the gaming-table.
