During my vacation I bought some more finds.
I have found some real nice bits of plastic to convert.
The cannon will be a part of a stronghold and will
be a pleasure for the eye when finished with more
sandbags and a lot of camo-net. :)
The MG will be mounted on a scratchbuild war-
rig to play games in the Necromunda/Ash wastes.
The remaining old tree will be a part of my cemetary-
scenery.
The plastic-profiles in the scale 1:72 will be converted
to details in grand buildings in my Berlin 1945-scenario
in the game Flames of war (15mm).
When unpacking some boxes I rediscovered some plastic
scenery that will be used both in 28mm and 15mm.
When relaxing with my family I bought a cake and
under the pastery I found a aluminium-"bowl" that
will be converted to a big artillery-crate when finished.
Last but not least I have bought some german infantry
on second hand after publishing an add.
The infantry will be a counter-part to my big russian
force in Fow.
The infantry will come together with 4 stugs and a
apc (sdkfz 251) and a real find and very ueseful on the
gaming table when playing my scenario Berlin 1945.
During my vacation I have struggled to get my new house
ready for playing games and also a place to live in. :)
I managed to mount racks and make a shelf-solution on
all the walls in my cellar and empty att least 60 boxes
and still there are 40 left...
I also painted some figures for my yearly gaming-
session and tested a new blood colour(Blood for the
blood god). This is by far the best blood-colour I have
used so far and I recommend it.
It is a glace and it looks real good.
My second vet-squad is taking form and I have made
bases to get a more gritty look.
I didn´t finish the figures and the supportweapons in
time before the gaming-session but still they are playable.
On the last picture you can see my complete IG-force before
the gaming-session.
In my preparations for my first serious table-top-gaming in
my new house I have built a secon veteran squad to my
Imperial guard(Warhammer 40 000). All the bits are bought
on second hand I have made a lot of nice finds.
The troops have a lot of firepower and my idea was to make
them "a bad ass bunch" and I guess it shows.
The commander has also tied a trophy on his belt from a
fallen enemy. :)
Weapons like melta-gun and combat-shotgun are both new to me
and I am looking forward "using" them on any prey.
Next step will be the lick of paint and the banner will also
be upgraded with the colours red, white and black.
Fun times ahead!
Last friday I went to buy some flower for the Mrs in my village.
In the supermarket nearby they had sales on various articles and
I made a real find. One big truck together with two small cars
for only 1.8 Euros. A bargain!!!
I plan to reconstruct both trucks and convert them into war-rigs
for Ash-wastes-gaming(Necromunda/Fallout warfare).
The roof on the trailer will be removable to place figures inside and
on top.Small hatchets will be made for fire on both sides of the
trailer. The truck itself will be fitted with a big ram/"plough"
that will be sloped and fitted with "nails/sharp sticks".
I will make some sketches further on and publish them here before
starting this project.
The rear will still be fitted with a ramp to be able to host smaller
"combat-cars inside". It will be great fun playing table-top games
using these trucks together with mechas and infantry/gangers.
To add some more power to my GW-Imperial guard I have glued
some second hand bits to make supportweapons. Now I am finished
making these and proceeded to make the bases. I have different
themes to help identify the weapon-systems on the gaming-table.
I really like the autocannons and I think they look like a real threat just
standing there. Sad thing is that they are not so strong as the lasercannons.
I also made some fittings to be able to add or remove flags and standards.
The bases are made from 5mm hard-plastic that I cut from a bigger sheet.
The terrain is made of polysterene (white light density and blue high density).
Next step will be to add pva and sand to make a cover and also to be able to
use superglue for all the extra details. If you use superglue directly onto
polystyrene it will melt and get damaged. To be continued.
As I went to the local IKEA with my wife I also found
something useful to me. :)
I bought the article Godmorgon (goodmorning) in the
half-price and find-department and the primary
use for this was to be used in bed when taking
a breakfast in bed. I think that these transparent trays will be
of great use when playing table-top-games.
As you can see there are three different trays in one set and
they can be used both for figures and for figures.
I think that for me they also can be used for hobby-work
when the children are around and when you need to move
the hobby-stuff quickly out of reach for small hands. :)
The set only cost med 4 Euros on half price and the sad thing
seems to be that these will not be sold anymore att the
warehouse in the future but keep on looking outthere.
