Bridgelayers and light support

Next report is about my german bridgelayers

and light support-vehicles (softskin).

All models are 3d-printed in resin and ordered

from ADM /Mad about 3d. Very good service

and the result is excellent!

As a former member of the swedish royal

engineers I couldn´t resist these 4 heavy trucks.

All trucks are Mercedes-Benz L 4500.

The ligh support vehicles are both Kubelwagen

and Kettenkrad and with personel.

The support-vehicles have a lot of character and

could be used for close support and also reconnaissance.

Very nice finds and all in the 15mm-scale (1/100).

I will primarily use these models to the WW2-game

Flames of war.

PT-3 used by the germans

Next project with my own CAD-crafted soviet

PT-3 minerollers is to be able to use these

together with my german collection of models.

Reading the history a lot of the vehicles

and equipment conquered by the germans during

WW2 ended up being used towards their former

owners and sometimes also upgraded.

For some time ago I ordered 3+3 "beutepanzers"

as the germans named their conquered vehicles

from the 3d-service Mad about 3d/ADM.

I choose the KV-1 with cuppola, and a PAK-40-gun

and a T-34 also with cuppola but with schuerzen-

plates both on the turret and the hull.

These models will be very nice to use as mine-clearer

because in my opinion the germans themselves had

poor design when it comes to these kind of tasks.

The minerollers will be modular and placed on singular

bases to be able to use these models to a variety of

scenarios. Very nice addition indeed!!!

PT-3 Soviet mineroller

Finally I have now 3d-printed my own

CAD-crafted PT-3, soviet mineroller.

I choose resin to make all the details

"pop out" and the result is really good

and fits like a hand in the glove with my

T-34-tanks in the 15mm-scale.

I ordered 6 of these from the swedish-based

3d-printservice Mad about 3d/ADM and I

must say I got excellent service and all of

the models were thoroughly placed in a

sheltered package.

The "plan" are that the minerollers will be able

to push through
the german mine-fields in the

game Flames ofwar.

I can´t wait to paint these!!!

Below you also can read about my 3d-work

in CAD.

Smart and cheap storage for miniatures - updated

During this summer my collection of miniatures

and models has been growing even more since

I posted my last report about how to store these:

https://huggochslagsmart-and-cheap-miniature-storage.html

I have found out that IKEA sell "big" cardboard boxes

that has the measurements inside to perfect fit

my homemade cheap green cardboard-trays.

The IKEA-box is named Pappis and cost about

2 Euros each. Very good storage indeed and

allows me to be able to pile my green-cardboard-

trays 3 layers high. To lift my piled green card-

trays easy I use A3-sheets of paper but I will

probably ugrade these to permanent laces or

small strings that are firmly attached underneath.

This solution will be a very good way to store all

of my miniatures and models both 15mm and 28mm.

Flight-stands for Cold war 6mm

One of my projects is Cold war in the 6mm-scale

and for this I need both airplanes and helicopters

but it will look so much better when they are

mounted on flightstands.

I have looked at many variants on the market

but I intend to make my stands low but steady.

I bought a big-pack with black plastic-stands

and I will paint these in sky-blue.

The base is not steady and will be glued onto a

3mm-steelplate and detailed with some pva to

attach sands and "greens".

The model will finally be drilled underneath to

fit the pivot on the flight-stand that will mount it.

On the picture I have a 3d-printed Soviet SU-25

with a heavy bomb-load for close support to

the infantry.

Scenery to 15mm Flames of war

This summer I could finally enjoy some relaxation.

Last year it was busy hours almost every day.

One day I visited the local Second-hand-shop and

found a 3d-puzzle in the 1:100 scale.

The puzzle will be very practical once assembled

because it is light and can be stored in a box when

not in use. One other nice thing is that it is a model

with a whole quarter and very good when making

a city-scenery. The only backside is the hours it takes

to build. :) I will use this "Bavarian mansion" to

my Flames of war when playing the Eastern front.
